A focus group is a research method used by manufacturers, marketers, legal research firms, and political parties. It is a way for these entities to hear directly from consumers and citizens, to find out how they think and feel about products and services, as well as legal and political issues. Focus groups are usually held in special focus group facilities in larger cities, and in hotel conference rooms or other public facilities in smaller towns. Why do people participate
in focus groups? Qualified participants receive $50 in cash for coming to a two-hour focus group session. Some sessions are longer; in those cases, you would be paid more for your time and effort. In addition to the money, a focus group represents a chance for you to improve the products and services you receive, as well as shape the issues that face your community, your state, and your country. What happens during
the session? During the session, a moderator will present topics, concepts, or issues for discussion, and then ask you and others for feedback. Some focus groups last two hours, some last a day, and some last two days. You are paid a cash incentive at the end of the session. In addition, you are provided with free meals if sessions are scheduled during mealtimes. How do you use
the information you get from focus groups? The information and insight we gain from focus groups helps our clients in a variety of ways: · Design new
products Do I have to prepare
for the focus group? No. If you're invited to attend a focus group, all we want are your honest opinions about various topics presented for discussion. Are you selling something? Absolutely not. Focus groups should never be confused with telemarketing or sales seminars. They are completely different. In short, we are paying you for your thoughts and opinions. After the session, you will not be contacted for sales purposes by FocusAnywhere, nor by our client for whom we are doing the research. It is strictly market research. |
